Sonsee decides she wanted to change Champ's name to Cheng-Kai. Cheng to honor his Chinese ancestry and Kai being a Hawaiian word for the sea. We've named Lani after the beautiful and famous Lani-Kai beach in Oahu. ( It means beautiful sea). The bird is named “Kolohe” which is rascal. Champ is doing well on his walks. He made a complete circuit around our courtyard today, and had his 1st hydro therapy session in the hot tub last night. We both had to carefully pick him up and lower him into the water. I don't think he's ever been immersed in water before. It took a few minutes for him to relax and just straddle me on the seat. This morning he surprised me with his street survival tricks and tried to help Lani eat her food. I picked him up and moved him to his bowl, but he raced back to Lani and she put him in his place (no damage). I guess we will have to feed him first. He goes thru his bowl like a vacuum cleaner. He goes to the vet on Thursday for a basic work up and physical.

Champ 現在有了新的名字是 Cheng-Kai。Cheng 是承襲他中國的姓氏，Kai 是夏威夷語裡的海。Lani（另一隻狗狗）的名字是來自夏威夷歐胡島很美很有名的 Lani-Kai 海灘。Champ 走路走得很好，他今天圍繞著庭院走了一個整圈，昨天晚上也在澡桶裡作了他第一次的水治療。我們必須很小心地把他提起來放入水裡，不確定他以前是否有過這樣地浸入在水裡，他花了幾分鐘的時間才放鬆自己。今天早上Champ 居然用了他在街上謀生的本領，試著要幫 Lani 吃完她的食物。我帶領 Champ 到他自己的碗前，但他很快地又跑回去 Lani 那裡，Lani 也推了Champ 要他回到自己的位置去。以後我們可能要先餵食Champ，他吃飯好像吸塵器一般地迅速俐落。 照片和文字來源：台灣動物緊急救援小組
